TODAY I MURAL PAINTED MY FIRST MURAL WITH APRIL KEOGH AND BMSAC ( BLUE MOUNTAINS STREET ART COLLABORATIVE)
Today I painted my first mural!
It was really intriguing seeing how it was all made!
It was painted with Solargard to block in colors and over the top we used spray cans fo different effects.
April Keogh runs the projects for the railways. This year she has 33 projects of murals around the community to be done and this mural was dedicated to Springwood Community!
We collaborated with BMSAC (Blue mountains Street Art Collaborative) which is a community of aerosol artists who partake in doing murals in legal avenues for the community.
Jarrod the head of BMSAC showed me how to paint with spray cans as I never used them before!
I've always wanted to learn and this was my opportunity!
The technique is to first mark out your subject with your spray can then , and draw like you do with a pencil with very quick agile strokes about 3 inches from the wall for thinner lines.
For thicker lines you stand furthur back and to block in color. It is a process of spraying it line by line so you get an even finish.
Don't be fooled thinking it is an easy way of painting , it really isn't! Like every type of art it takes time to master the technique.
Alot of people drove past us slowly to watch the mural being painted ! The public gave alot of great feedback saying how they just love what we had accomplished! Others just watched from afar putting our thumbs up at us saying Don't let us disturb you! Keep going!
The wall was 100 metres , so we had alot to cover.
I had a wonderful day painting , you gain alot of knowledge just by listening and
watching everyone paint, as everyone has their own particular technique.
BMSAC & April Keogh have have various projects of murals scheduled around
every 2 weeks I am looking forward to participating!
Giving back to the community and creating art for a good cause!
You too can join us and create murals for the community!
For more information on how to join email Jarrod on jarrod@myst.com.au or phone him on 4782 2857 or visit their website http://www.bmsac.org.au/

IF YOU ARE LOCATED IN SYDNEY AND INTERESTED IN ART CLASSES READ THIS!
I teach Art classes from my house Monday, Friday and the weekends at 12 pm.
I teach using a range of mediums including :- Graphite,Acrylics,Watercolor, Pen & Ink, Oils.
I focus for EXCELLENT results from my students each and every lesson.
I will teach you how to draw and paint from the basics up.
It doesn't matter If you don't have an artistic bone in your body. I will teach you the structure, of how to draw anatomically correct where you can apply it to every drawing or painting you start.
You will see the results in your painting. The difference between a structured painting to an unplanned painting.
What most artists don't realize,is drawing is the foundation to every artwork. I am a firm believer in this concept.
If you plan your painting out properly and keep your drawing simple and follow the guidelines
I tell you , you will get the results you desire.
What I always emphasize to my students is you have to enjoy every task I put before you
and practice! pratice! practice! and you will definately become better and start seeing every object in a different perspective.
You will be able to disect a painting, see the colors underneath, how it was made and use it as inspiration for a new piece you will work on.
Here are some examples of my students progress through my Wildlife Art Lessons.
Teaching my student how to mark up his subject onto a canvas
Using simplified shapes as his guideline he creates the right anatomically correct shape.
The Underpainting - teaching my student how to build up form in his painting
IF YOU ARE LOCATED IN SYDNEY, AND YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ART LESSONS ,
EMAIL ME ON: vizearts@hotmail.com and we will discuss it further there.
Beginners to Advanced all welcome!

I LOVE WORKING AS AN ARTS ADMIN ASSISTANT !
currently work at Gallery Aloft.
I started yesterday at 2 pm after class at Willandra Art Centre with bontanical and wildlife artist Peter Wale. I love the atmosphere at work, It's just so peaceful.
While I'm updating the mailing lists Tania's painting in the backroom and Kristina making hand crafted jewellery.
It's just amazing how fast they compose a piece in a few hours.
Spanish music plays while I work , the paintings and Jewellery surrounding me where I do my admin work are really are wonderful!
The women portrayed in Tania wursig work are so sensual and mysterious, such vivid colors are used that seem like they jump out of the canvas at you.
As you gaze at these pieces by Tania Wursig they take you to another land of beauty and mystery.
You tend to ask yourself where are these beautiful women from, why are they there and why can't you be with them as they give you such a great feeling of contentment and ease.
Kristina's jewellery are so cleverly made, no need to go to Angus and Coote guys! Kristina has every type of jewellery piece to suit any occassion! They are just superb.
Gallery Aloft is a MUST SEE!
Go to Gallery Aloft at Rozelle (across the road from Tilleys the art shop ) and see for yourself!
For more information check out their site : http://www.galleryaloft.com/
I'm just so happy right now.
I make sure I do my work thoroughly and as fast as I can and make sure I really give my boss Tania 100% each and every day I work.
I'm learning so much in so little time.
I'm just so thankful for this opportunity
Looking forward to work tomorrow! :D
AND REMEMBER!
HAVE PATIENCE WITH EVERYTHING THAT REMAINS UNSOLVED IN YOUR HEART.
TRY TO LOVE THE QUESTIONS THEMSELVES LIKE LOCKED ROOMS OR
BOOKS WRITTEN IN A FORIEGN LANGUAGE.
DO NOT LOOK FOR THE ANSWERS NOW.
THEY CANNOT BE GIVEN TO YOU BECAUSE YOU COULD NOT LIVE THEM NOW.
ITS A QUESTION OF EXPERIENCING EVERYTHING.
AT THE PRESENT YOU NEED TO LIVE THE QUESTION.
GRADUALLY WITHOUT NOTICING IT ,
YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF EXPERIENCING THE ANSWER YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ! :)

I entered the Australasian Body Art Competition at Double Bay !
My Professional Model Lithium with my Body Art Design for the Australasian Body Painting Competition.

"Envy. Is ignorance, it comsumes itself."
I thought a japanese theme would be a great way to portray this idea.
I used Japanese paintings and sketches of dragons and samarai's to show envy.
The dragon representing the watcher over everything.
The samurai being the defiant person trying to rule upsetting the peace, envious of the dragon.
I entered the Australasian Body Art Competition yesterday at The Food Festival , Double Bay Knox St .
It was my first time using body paints!
When you arrived you could do the makeup and hair on your model and It was timed from when your model came.
We were given 3 hours to paint a Body, in relation to the theme 7 deadly sins.
I got the great opportunity to use
Tim Gratton's tool box of art supplies!
Including his own body paints brushes, and body glitters.
I'm so thankful he was kind enough to help me out as I only bought a few body paint colors.
I decided I'd use the liquid paints as they act like acrylic paints.
So it was a familiar territory for me.
The secret is to paint it on like a wash , If you are using the liquid body paint.
Otherwise if you put it on thickly it will peel straight away.
Or you can use Hair Spray to keep it fixated to the body.
This way when you paint over it , it will not smudge.
At the end of 3 hours we had pre-selected music to go with the Body Art.
We had a huge audience to model for.
Lithium and I were called up and introduced to the judges individually by Tim Gratton and I got on the microphone and told a little about what my piece was about.
So my model walked around for the judges with the music " Did my time " by Korn as it worked well with the piece as the song as all about being envious about the other person , basically not being able to handle the situation he was inn.
He did his time and now he wants to be supreme ruler.
The moral of the story is don't be envious about anyone as it doesn't pay off , it consumes itself and
you will end up doomed like the samurai for being defiant.
So much talent in this competition. I really was impressed.
The way they used the cakes and liquids really was done VERY well.
I just loved every moment of it, seeing how the paints sit on skin I just gave It a go and used my imagination!
It's a very interesting surface to paint on, very different from painting on canvas's... alot harder then it looks.
But with practice I will get use to the medium alot better! :D
Everyone kept telling me I did very well for a beginner :D
I'm going to really love experimenting with this medium!
Definately entering next year! :D
I met a very talented artist named Tania Wursig.
Tania is a Sydney based artist known for her Flamboyant palette and exploration of the sensual, her paintings are of celebrating the feminine.
This is her stall set up at the Food Festival.
Her art is just amazing , I fell in love with it straight away.
I couldn't stop looking at her art , the use of color, the way she painted it was just wonderful.
It really inspired me , I just wanted to run home and paint after seeing her works!
If you want to see more of her artworks check out her website http://www.taniawursig.com/
You won't be disapointed!
Her work is truely amazing!
Tania owns an Art Gallery in Rozelle called Gallery Aloft.
I asked if she could let me do some volunteer work for her as I study Arts Administration and she told me as she leads a very busy lifestyle it would be perfect for me to come inn and help her out in assisting with work where she would pay me ! :D
At that point , It honestly made my day.
I was just so happy I was speechless.
Everything is happening naturally for me these days , everything I wanted I've been achieving.
I really couldn't ask for more.
So take this as an example !
MAKE YOUR OPPORTUNITIES IF YOU CAN'T FIND THEM!
HAVE FAITH IN YOUR DREAMS, AND SOON YOUR RAINBOW WILL COME SHINING THROUGH!
Be obesessed with your specific goals.
Focus and sacrifice time.
It will really pay off! :D
